      Leather: Pueblo

      Origin

Pueblo is a famous leather from the Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Tuscany, Italy. The tannery is highly respected for keeping the traditional Vacchetta method alive—a centuries-old vegetable tanning process using natural plant tannins and animal oils. This technique deeply infuses the leather with fats, giving Pueblo its signature rich aroma and full-bodied texture.

      Texture & Feel

What makes Pueblo unique is its rustic surface. Artisans brush the leather with a special metal tool, creating a fine, slightly scuffed texture with a circular pattern. It initially has a matte finish and a dry, suede-like feel. Once crafted, it keeps a firm yet flexible structure that provides great substance and durability.

      Colors & Combinations

The color palette reflects the organic earth tones of traditional Italian tanning. It offers a wide variety of colors that are perfect for creating gradient looks or sharp color contrasts. Pueblo also pairs very well with smoother or more textured leathers, allowing for clean contrast designs.

      Durability & Patina

Crafted with traditional Italian leather craftsmanship, Pueblo is low-maintenance and perfect for daily use. Thanks to its high oil content, light scratches can often be rubbed out simply with your fingers. It can handle minor water splashes if wiped dry quickly, but its true beauty comes as it ages. Over time, the matte surface absorbs natural oils, transforming into a smooth, beautifully lustrous patina.

      Customisation

We offer add-on service of customised gold/silver embossing and blind debossing, allowing you to create a one-of-a-kind leather piece for yourself, or a deeply thoughtful gift for someone special.

      The Story Behind

      THIS IS OUR HOME

      Dedicated to Hongkongers:

Together, we are bound by a shared hope, a common identity, and a tapestry of memories...

      Craftsmanship

Traditional Chinese characters are the heartbeat of Hong Kong’s culture. From the flow of each stroke to the evolution of glyphs, every character carries centuries of history.

The lead types we use for our leather embossing were originally crafted for letterpress printing—a heritage of over ten thousand individual characters, each carrying its own weight and soul. Unlike perfect digital prints, letterpress captured the typecasters’ artistry and the printer’s touch, giving every impression a raw, living texture.

We are dedicated to weaving this heritage into our designs. Our lead types are sourced from the world’s last standing Traditional Chinese type foundry. Today, as the original copper molds naturally wear down, the foundry is running against time to restore each character, striving to keep this craftsmanship and our language alive.

When you choose our pieces, you are not just holding a craft; you are helping our culture to preserve the beauty of traditional Chinese characters for generations to come.
