Leather: Chévre Sully
Origin
Chèvre Sully is a premium goatskin from the Alran Tannery in France. Founded in 1903, Alran is trusted by top luxury houses for its traditional tanning expertise. They use a heritage manual boarding process to treat each hide, creating one of the finest and most respected goatskins in the leathercraft world.
Texture & Feel
This leather features a natural pebbled grain that is excellent at concealing light scratches and blemishes. It has a remarkably smooth, tactile feel. When crafted into finished goods, it provides a gentle, supple structure that feels soft to the touch while beautifully holding its shape.
Colors & Combinations
The color palette for Chèvre Sully is exceptionally wide and vibrant. Whether you are looking for a subtle gradient or a bold, contrasting look, you can mix and match freely. It also pairs beautifully with other leather types and textures, allowing you to create a striking contrast in your custom designs.
Durability & Care
Crafted using traditional French leather craftsmanship, this leather is highly resilient for daily use. It is naturally scratch-resistant and can handle minor splashes—simply wipe it dry immediately and it remains unharmed. Craftsmanship
Traditional Chinese characters are the heartbeat of Hong Kong’s culture. From the flow of each stroke to the evolution of glyphs, every character carries centuries of history.
The lead types we use for our leather embossing were originally crafted for letterpress printing—a heritage of over ten thousand individual characters, each carrying its own weight and soul. Unlike perfect digital prints, letterpress captured the typecasters’ artistry and the printer’s touch, giving every impression a raw, living texture.
We are dedicated to weaving this heritage into our designs. Our lead types are sourced from the world’s last standing Traditional Chinese type foundry. Today, as the original copper molds naturally wear down, the foundry is running against time to restore each character, striving to keep this craftsmanship and our language alive.
