Origin
Shell Cordovan is a famous leather from the Shinki Hikaku Tannery in Hyogo, Japan. Founded in 1951, Shinki is the only tannery in the world dedicated entirely to horsehide processing. This leather is made from a specific high-density fibrous layer inside the horse rump. The tanning process takes up to ten months of slow vegetable tanning and careful shaving, making it one of the rarest and most labor-intensive leathers available.
